Pakistani channels banned in Indian held Kashmir
Authorities banned beaming of Pakistani channels in the northern part of Indian held Kashmir.
Baramulla district Magistrate directed cable operators to stop beaming of PTV, Geo TV, ARY News, Dawn News and Express 24/7.
Authorities banned beaming of Pakistani channels in the northern part of Indian held Kashmir and directed cable operators in Baramulla and Sopore to block five Pakistani news channels and a religious channel with immediate effect on Sunday.
According to the report of Kashmir Media Service, Bobby Singh who runs the cable operation in occupied Kashmir said that the Baramulla district Magistrate directed cable operators on Friday evening to stop beaming of PTV, Geo TV, ARY News, Dawn News and Express 24/7.
“The authorities also directed us to block the Pakistani religious channel, Noor TV,” He said that all these channels were being beamed by the local cable operators to thousands of their subscribers.
Deputy Commissioner Baramulla, Bashir Ahmed Butt, confirmed imposition of the ban on the Pakistani channels. “As per the orders we have directed the cable operators to block all the Pakistan-based channels in Baramulla and Sopore,” Deputy Commissioner told.

India achieves much of its purpose of propaganda agaisnt Pakistan and others by using its strong media. Pakistan should make this a priority that their channels are readily available to the kashmiris both in form of the air waves as well as via internet. even radio broadcast if possible. so that even when india bans these forms of media- pakistan’s message and viewpoint can still reach the kashmiris and others so that we dont appear as silent spectators.Recommend
