Zardari and Nawaz cannot be trusted to check on each other: Imran Khan

Published: October 7, 2011

Imran Khan addresses a rally in Faisalabad. PHOTO: EXPRESS

FAISALABAD: Pakistan Tehrik-e-Insaaf (PTI) president Imran said that neither Zardari nor Nawaz Shariff would ever be a check on one another since neither kept their ill-gotten wealth in the country and that the first law PTI would implement (if it assumes office) would be to ban all those who did not declare their assets.

Addressing a rally in Faisalabad, Khan said that corrupt politicians could not be expected to keep a check on one another since they would strike a deal to get out.

He said that Pakistan was weighed down by the weight of corruption. Despite having vast natural resources, Khan said, Pakistan had to beg due to the corruption of the leaders.

He said that the poor in Pakistan were getting poorer due to the taxes imposed upon them by the rich.

Whipping up public sentiment, Khan said that if Pakistan could get rid of the corrupt, it could transform Pakistan from a poor country to a rich country.

He said that the only reasons that both Nawaz Sharif and President Zardari had the bulk of their wealth stored in foreign assets was that they wanted to avoid taxes and ferry off their ill-gotten wealth.

The first move PTI would take once elected into power, Khan said, would be to introduce a law where in those whose assets are abroad and undeclared would not be allowed to participate in local politics.

He must have 2/3 majority for change any legislation but he is focused only to PML-N means only in punjab.
Imran khan break the vote of PML-N which means help the PPP to get more seat if PPP get the majority then MQM also come throuhg seat adjustment so it means power gainning game will begun.

No one in eight and half year put any corruption case against sharif brother in any court only in words

Imran khan mix ppp corruption with sharif brother only to take punjab which is only his dream

Jealousy is bleeding from PML (N) supporters, because Imran Khan became a great threat for the Nawaz and company. If any one needs proofs of Nawaz corruption, he/she can get the record by contacting to NAB.

He is a leader who ran away to Jaddah, while Pakistan was in trouble. Still, he has billions of dollars, but don’t even bother to spend one Paisa on the poor people of Pakistan. Such so called leaders must be kicked off, and InshaAllah, Imran Khan will do it.Recommend

Imran Khan must get couple seats from each province. All he need is a good “team”. Sorry but that’s just to have enough leverage to join the government__ provincial & at center. If parties like PMLN, MQM, PMLQ, and ANP can’t tame/wrestle/win over PPP what are the chances he can.
Fact: He got a good agenda to be used by other parties or him when he will be in opposition benches.Khan Sahib! Push your agenda to be part of next government because Pak Public has not “developed enough” for you yet. They will only trust or follow ruthless, cunning, violent, two-face, robber-like leaders. Sadly! They have come to believe that’s the only way they can get their rights in a country-like Pakistan.

Please do some research in last 8 years first of all Nawaz Sharif and brothers were not in the country they were sitting quietly in Saudia no interviews to TV or newspapers like they were sleeping I’m sure that was part of their contract and deal which allowed them to save their lives and run away from Paksitan.

Also please do some research and check newspapers and videos of news of late 90′s and you will find loads of corruption charges and cases on Nawaz Sharif,

Mr Nawaz Sharif was trying to stop supreme court from hearing his corruption cases bcoz he told chief justice that being a PM he enjoyed immunity so please go and do some research Nawaz Sharif has a corrupt past which he can never erase , he want us to believe that he is a “CHANGED” man lol thats a JOKE

also we have already seen their GOOD GOVERNANCE” in Punjab and thats why BEST they can do , but unfortunately their best is simply not ENOUGH thats the maximum vision they have so now is the time to changeRecommend

Tell me who made alliance with the PPP in 2008, Imran Khan or Nawaz Sharif?

Who kept PPP in the provincial government for 3 years and had lunches and dinner with them Imran Khan or Nawaz Shariff?

Who helped PPP in winning the election of Kashmir by breaking Muslim Conference, Imran Khan or Nawaz Shariff?

Who helped the PPP minority government in February 2011 by attacking MQM and pushing them towards PPP again and giving them time to become a majority government, Imran Khan or Nawaz Shariff?

Nawaz Shariff is the right hand of PPP and untill and unless PML-N is knocked out, PPP will remain in the driving seat.

Forget PPP, PML, PTI etc. Just vote for the best candidate in your constituency in the next elections and we will have an assembly of capable and eligible people.
If IK shifts his focus point from Punjab to KPK & FATA then, IMHO, it will be much more beneficial for him as there is more room of success there. In Punjab there is already tough competition between PPP, PML-N & PML-Q, and assuming an alliance between PPP & PML-Q it will be even tougher.

As a vivid patriotic Pakistani, I can truly say that I agree with this article. Asif Zardari and Nawaz Sharif both represent corruption to the nth degree. Not only are these two leaders corrupt, but they lead parties which themselves are engulfed in loot, plunder, extortion, and white collar crime. Both leaders, and members of their respective parties have stashed hundreds of millions of dollars in foreign bank accounts, and their is ample proof to solidify these statements. As far as Mr. Imran Khan is concerned, I do not see him having any role in the future setup of Pakistan. Why? Simple…he does not have enough support to even win one single seat in the National Assembly. This is not to say that I think he is corrupt or a bad person, but I am willing to say that his political maneuvering skills are very bad, and his status as a leader is at the amateur level. My advice to Mr. Khan is that he needs to team up with like-minded political forces in Pakistan. Imran Khan’s best bet is to jump on the MQM bandwagon, as the MQM is a major political force in Pakistan, and it looks like their stock is gaining more and more value by the day. Besides, whether you love MQM or hate them, one thing is for sure, they have zero corruption in their party, and all of their elected members are straight from the middle class order. In addition, Mr. Khan needs to spend more time campaigning in the city-centers, where educated voters are abundant. He should not waste too much time in the rural sections, as these are no-go areas for progressive political parties, and the voter response will be almost non-existent. I think Imran Khan is an ok person, but he needs to re-evaluate his approach.

@ yusuf! Sorry Ms. Yusuf, but I have spent ample time in Karachi, and I know the MQM very well. If MQM was looting it’s own people, then they would not be winning elections with the margins they have been for the past twenty years. I don’t think you have ever seen an MQM rally, as they can mobilize hundreds of thousands of people in less than 24 hours.

FYI – in 1990, the MQM organized the C.O.P rally, which is considered the largest political gathering in modern times. Over 5 million people poured into the streets, and converged on the Mazar of Quaid-e-Azam in Karachi, on Altaf Hussain’s call.
