KARACHI: Farmers Associates Pakistan (FAP) has strongly protested against the imposition of General Sales Tax (GST) on tractors and other agriculture equipments and said that this move will adversely impact the sector. In a meeting of FAP’s directors held with FAP President Dr Tariq Bucha on Tuesday, the association has, on behalf of the farmers and the related industry- that is fertiliser, tractors and agriculture machinery and the  agriculture implements industry, decided to appeal to the government to reconsider this very detrimental decision of the imposition of GST which will not only kill the farmer and the related industry but will adversely affect revenue generation estimates as envisaged in the federal budget.
