Illegal Immigrants: Two Russian nationals arrested

on charges of overstaying in Pakistan despite the expiration of their visa.

FAISALABAD: Peoples Colony police have arrested two Russian nationals including a woman and her son on charges of overstaying in Pakistan despite the expiration of their visa. According to police officials, the accused had been staying in the country for an additional year without a valid visa and also required other documents. The accused include Sudi Raina, 56, and her son Rehman, 32,. Both accused were taken into custody as suspects by Peoples Colony Police from Railway Station Chowk here Wednesday. Peoples Colony Station House Officer (SHO) Abdus Sattar Niazi told reporters that the accused had been arrested on suspicion and taken into police custody soon after. The SHO said that they had recovered two expired passports with expired visas. The accused arrived in Pakistan in June 2010 and had a valid visa up to 31st December 2010. “For the last nine moths, they were living in Islamabad and Muzaffarabad and they were never checked by any agency or police”, he said. An FIR vide FIR No.1516/2011 under Section 4 of the Foreign Act has been registered.
