Secondary school: Matric results finally released

More girls among toppers across Punjab.

The Board of Intermediate and Secondary School Education on Tuesday announced the annual results of the secondary/matric examinations, which were in March and April, 2011, throughout the Punjab. The Faisalabad, Multan, Dera Ghazi Khan and Bahawalpur boards announced the results along with the Lahore board on Tuesday.


Faisalabad

In Faisalabad, 51.79 per cent of the 120,305 students who appeared in the exams passed. Syed Mumtaz Husain Shah, the FBISE chairman, said that 62,304 students passed the exams this year. He said that 54,844 students appeared in the Science group, of which 38,021 or 69.33 per cent passed.

Meanwhile, 65,461 students appeared in the Humanities group, of which 24,283 passed at a rate of 37.01 per cent.

Shah said that 478 examination centres had been established for the exams throughout the Faisalabad division, including 291 centres in Faisalabad district, 76 in Jhang, 85 in Toba Tek Singh and 26 in Chiniot district.

Muhammad Umar Javaid and Anam Khaliq of the Divisional Public School and College (DPSC) came in joint first with 1,019 marks each.  Abiha Rae of the AW Grammar School, Jaranwala, and Ghamza Farooq of the DPSC stood second and third with 1,016 and 1,015 marks respectively.

In the Science group (boys), Muhammad Umar Javaid got the first position, while Osama Hasan of the Government High School, Jhang, and Muhammad Hatib Zia of the Jinnah Public School, Toba Tek Singh, came second with 1,013 marks each. Abdur Rehman of the Chenab College, Jhang, stood third with 1,011 marks.

In Science group (girls), Anam Khaliq of the DPSC and Abiha Rae of the AW Grammar High School, Jaranwala, came first and second respectively and Ghamza Farooq of the DSPC third.

In the general group (boys), Muhammad Azeem of the Super Radiant Way Boys High School, Faisalabad, stood first with 890 marks. Muhammad Yasir, a private candidate from Faisalabad, and Muhammad Tahir of the Government High School Walla, Chiniot, were second and third with 887 and 885 marks respectively.

In the general group (girls), Sania Javaid and Fajar Javaid of the Shari Public School No 1, Faisalabad, came first and second with 979 and 967 marks respectively while Nimra Nazir of the Shibli High School Gulberg Colony, Faisalabad, came third with 960 marks.

Multan

Of the 110,324 students who sat in exams through the Multan board, 67,164 passed at a rate of 60.9 per cent. Mehwish Kulsoom came first with 1,021 marks. Ammara Chand and Farheen Fatima came second with 1,081 marks and Muneeba Ramazan and Maida Shahzad third with 1,015 marks each.

Dera Ghazi Khan

A total of 50,570 students appeared in the Dera Ghazi Khan board exams. Of which 32,112 students passed at an overall rate of 63.5 per cent. Muhammad Irfan stood first with 1,009 marks, Mashood Iqbal, Muhammad Shoaib and Anam Arham second with 1,008 marks and Abdullah Ibrahim third with 1,007 marks.

Bahawalpur

Of the 64,158 students who appeared in the Bahawalpur board exams, 32,425 students passed at a rate of 55.22 per cent. Maryam Zafar stood first with 1,018 marks, Shabeeh-i-Zehra second with 1,016 marks and Ramsha Bukhari third with 1,014 marks.

Sargodha

In Sargodha board, 64,325 candidates participated in the examination, of which 36,124 passed with the passing rate of 56.24 per cent.  In Science group (boys), Arsalan Javed of the PAF Public School, Sargodha, came first with 1,021 marks, Raza Ali of the PAF School second with 1,012 marks and Abdul Basit of Dar-i-Arqam and Waqar Ahmed of Misali Ravian Science Academy came third jointly with 1,009 marks. In Science group (girls), Raheela Fareen of the Jinnah Public Higher Girls Secondary School, Kalor Kot, came first with 1,014 marks, Haleema Shafiq of the CP Girls Higher Secondary School Grote, Joharabad, and Madiha Mumtaz of the Jinnah Public Girls Higher Secondary School, Kalor Kot, came second with 1,007 marks and Saadia Haleema of the Government Girls Model School, Bhakkar, came third with 1,005 marks.

Gujranwala

Girls once again outshone boys. In Gujranwala board, 170,103 students appeared in the exams of which 108,850 passed with a passing rate of 64 per cent.

Lubaba Mukhtar of the Convent of Jesus and Mary Girls High School, Sialkot, came first with 1,015 marks, Waqar Ahmed of the Government High School, Tharu Mandi, and Nabeela Younis of the Best School System Satellite Town, Gujranwala, shared the second position with 1,013 marks each. Hassan bin Aziz of the Quaid-i-Azam Divisional Public School, Gujranwala, Rabia Munir Ahmed of the Federal Science College School, Gujranwala, and Aqsa Muhammad Ali Khan of the Azam Public Girls Public Girls HighSchool, Qila Deedar Singh, jointly came third with 1,012 marks each.
