‘Musharraf exercising constitutional right’

Published: June 14, 2010

ISLAMABAD: Former chief minister Punjab, president PML-Q Chaudhry Pervez Elahi said that forming a political party is the constitutional right of former president Pervez Musharraf. He added that the PML-Q has not decided whether it will support Musharraf’s party or not.

Speaking to journalists on Sunday, Elahi said that all political parties in the country are united on national issues but have their unique political affiliations. He also said that in the past, PML-Q constituted a government with Musharraf, but he left the party and went abroad in the same manner as ‘Sharif-Brethren’ left the country by making an agreement with Musharraf.

These guys (PML-Q) is the worst of all political parties. They are now again trying to side with Musharraf, or at least trying to keep the door open whereas earlier they were running away from him. What a lota party!!Recommend

    It’s called politics Ali =)

But looking at the various positions taken by the parties over the last two years, the Q-league has come through as the most progressive one and they have my vote for the next election (despite my deep dislike for the Chaudhries). Its the most democratic party that we have since they are the only ones practicing intra-party elections.

    I’m done with the PPP!Recommend

This man was labelled as “terror central ” by BBC. Pakistan during his watch was called a ” country that uses terror as an instrumrnt of state policy “. To keep himself in power he stage managed the mullahs
victory in NWFP and Baluchistan and turned a blind eye to millitant
madressa activities all over the country especially in south Punjab.
He had eight years to do something good for Pakistan and every time he “chickened out” small example – on passports only Pakistan was to apper and not Islamic Republic of Pakistan, he U turned even on a small thing like this within a week.
He had his chance and how he blew it.Recommend

After performing constitutional duties as Chief of Army since october 12, 1999, Musharaff is using constitutional rights. This is possible to abuse one’s father and mother and then claim inheritance; high moral ground?Recommend

Relax; let him come and add color to the circus in Pakistan. Take it easy, sit back in comfort and watch the show with amusement. Let’s develop some sense of humor. You can do it. Such circus goes on in other democracies as well, but people do not get unduly upset. Leaders turn into celebrities with some clowns, actors and so on, and so is the stage set for the enjoyment of people, who do it in moderation and stay cool. They have ample means available for a reasonably good life-style, which we lack here, so get charged with anger, frustration and disgust.Recommend
