French National Day: Politics and Karachi violence discussed at reception

Diplomats of different countries were eager to know the latest developments in the political arena of Karachi.

Pakistan’s political situation and the law and order situation in Karachi remained in focus at a reception organised by the French embassy to celebrate France’s national day here at local hotel on Thursday night.


French Ambassador Daniel Jouanneau hosted the reception, which was attended by diplomats, politicians and several journalists.

Deputy Chairman Senate Jan Jamali and Minister for Kashmir Affairs Mian Manzoor Ahmad Wattoo also attended the reception sharing news with diplomats of different countries who were eager to know the latest development in the political arena especially with regards to the Karachi situation.

Pakistan and France have traditionally enjoyed friendly relations over the years with close political contacts and strong cooperation in economic, trade, education and defence, said a press handout.

France is an important partner of Pakistan in Europe and the two countries share cordial and multifaceted relations.
