LIAQATPUR:

A case was registered against a police official for abducting a girl several days ago. According to Liaqatpur police, Chak-139 7R resident Abdul Hameed submitted an application with the Liaqatpur police station stating that he was temporarily living in his grandfather’s house in Chak 179 7R. He said that he recently married Fazal Khan Baloch’s daughter Bano Bibi in a court marriage.

Hameed said that on July 1, 2011, he was at work when Superintendent Muhammad Iqbal and his friend Bashir Ahmed forced their way into his house and kidnapped his wife in an official vehicle. Hameed said that the accused police official was at the court during his marriage ceremony and that he had been trying to register a case against the police official for several days. “I had to bribe the police to finally register my case but they did when I threatened to go to the press,” he said.

On Monday, Liaqatpur police filed a case against Iqbal and his friend. Police are still searching for the accused and Hameed said that he feared the men might kill his wife.
