Seven-year old mistakenly shoots his grandfather in Lahore

Separately, a nine-month old succumbs to his injuries after being stabbed by his own father a week ago

LAHORE: An unintentional discharge by a seven-year-old minor boy has claimed the life of his grandfather in Lahore on Saturday.

The incident took place in Islampura area of the city, where the minor  boy named Arif, while playing with his cousins, hit the trigger of the gun and injured his 61-year old grandfather Hanif, said the police officials.

Following the incident, Hanif was rushed to a nearby hospital in a critical condition, where he succumbed to his injuries.

In another incident in the provincial capital, a nine-month old infant died of his injuries on Saturday after he was stabbed by his father a week ago.

According to police officials, the suspect stabbed his wife and son over a domestic dispute within the limits of Baghbanpura police station.

The woman succumbed to her injuries on the spot while her infant son was shifted to the hospital and was undergoing medical treatment until he passed away earlier in the day.

The accused also sustained injuries during the incident and had been taken into custody after which the police registered an FIR of the incident.
