The District Administration has imposed section 144 on the entry of Afghan refugees into Peshawar city and cantonment areas, along with pillion riding and public display of firearms.
On Saturday, Peshawar District Coordination Officer Siraj Khan imposed Section 144 for two days in order to avert any untoward situation relating to the Azad Jammu and Kashmir general elections to be held on June 26. Under section 144, distribution of any literature fanning sectarianism has also been banned. Legal action under section 188 will be taken against any violators.
