ISLAMABAD: A total of 406 policemen will perform security duties, guarding polio teams who go door-to-door during the anti-polio drive which commences in the federal capital today.

According to police sources, all four Zonal SPs have been directed to monitor the security duties of polio teams in their respective areas.

SDPOs and SHOs will maintain coordinate with doctors and staff of polio teams and all necessary steps will be taken to ensure their security.

As a part of this security plan, vehicles of Counter-Terrorism Force (CTF) will patrol various areas while the staff of Eagle and Falcon Squads will remain alert to counter any untoward situation.

An officer of an inspector rank will perform duty as a focal person.

The Inspector will sit in the control room at the deputy commissioner’s office to get first-hand information about the overall situation.
