Dog-day afternoon: PM’s prized sniffer dog dies

Security officials said the dog was purchased for Rs500,000.

MULTAN: A sniffer dog deployed for the security of Prime Minister Gilani died from the heat in Multan on Sunday. According to the PM’s security officials, Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gilani is on a two day visit to Multan and one of his security dogs fell ill during the trip. The dog had been imported from the US and was trained to sniff explosives. She fell sick due to the heat and was shifted to the hospital for emergency treatment but did not survive. Security officials said the dog was purchased for Rs500,000.

Being a prime minister i think we can have very good trained dogs in pakista. with 500,000 rupees you could have supported 25 families for about an year.
