FAISALABAD:

FIR was registered against four men on Thursday on charges of sexually assaulting a woman in Khurrianwala on Wednesday night.

Amna Bibi, 18, in her complaint said that the four men raped her in the presence of her husband. She identified the men as Falak Sher, Rizwan, Baho and Haseeb. She alleged that the four sexually assaulted her after breaking into her house, beating up her husband, Habib, and tying him up with rope.

She said that the men beat her up when she resisted their attempt to rape her. She said that before leaving they threatened to kill them if they lodged a complaint with the police. “They said they belonged to an influential family and police could not do them any harm,” she said.

The initial report of the woman medial officer who examined the victim at Khurrianwala hospital confirmed that she had been raped.

Talking to The Express Tribune, several villagers said that the accused were residents of the village, but that they had not seen them around for the last couple of days.

Inspector Muhammad Younis, who is in charge of the investigation, told The Express Tribune he had formed a team to carry out raids and arrest the accused.

He said the family home of the four accused was raided but they were not found there. He hoped the four men would be arrested in two days.

The couple had recently moved to the village from Depalpur, Okara, after getting married eight months ago.

Asia’s husband, Habib, was working as a labourer at a textile unit outside the village.
