Bhutto assassination: Musharraf’s return ‘can’t be stopped’

Verdict was a pressure tactic meant to prevent Musharraf from returning.

LAHORE: The Pakistan Peoples Party-led government cannot stop former president General Pervez Musharraf from coming back to the country by getting him declared a proclaimed offender from the courts, said All Pakistan Muslim League (APML) spokesman Fawad Chaudhry on Monday.

Chaudhry was responding to an anti-terrorism court’s decision to declare the former president a proclaimed offender in the Benazir Bhutto assassination case.  He said the verdict was a pressure tactic meant to prevent Musharraf from returning. He criticised the judge and said that the decision was taken on political and not legal grounds.
