Terror bid foiled: Explosive device defused in Nowshera

Device was planted to target school buses on the road: police.

NOWSHERA: Police foiled on Wednesday a potential destructive bid on the G T Road after they defused a five-kilogramme remote-controlled explosive device.

According to police, the device was planted to target school buses on the road. The police later launched a search operation in Vatar, Ismail Khel, and arrested 31 suspects, including Afghan refugees. They also recovered heavy arms and ammunition.

District Police Officer Qureshi Khan later told media persons that police had found the explosive device stuffed in a tin of vegetable oil during a routine patrol. APP
