Indian man stabs friend over 50 times for mocking his lack of education

The accused says he planned the murder for a week because his friend used to mock him over lack of education

A young Indian man allegedly murdered his friend by stabbing him 54 times and slitting his throat in Mumbai on Thursday, Hindustan Times reported.

The reason behind this horrendous act was because the friend would allegedly speak to him in English only – in an attempt to belittle him for being uneducated.

The accused, 21-year-old Mohammad Amir Abdul Wahid Rahin, reached into Shahu Nagar police station and confessed his act of killing his friend Mohammed Afroz Alam Shaikh.



Police said that the accused reached and confessed which led him to lead the way of the isolated spot near Raheja bridge in Mahimi where Shaikh’s body was discovered.

Rahin told police that Shaikh’s constantly used to annoy and bring out the anger inside him for being less-educated, which triggered the killer to plan the murder for a week. “But he was waiting for the right time and location,” said DB Thorat, senior police officer at Shahu Nagar police station.

Few hours before the stabbing his friend to death, Rahin took Shaikh to Bandra for a drink where both of them bought beers. After a while, Rahin followed Shaikh into the washroom at the place where they went for drinks, waited for the right time and then attacked him by slitting his throat with a knife.



“When Shaikh fell, Rahin stabbed him 54 times to ensure he was dead,” said Thorat. Shaikh was stabbed in his throat and stomach and was declared brought dead at Sion hospital.

Shaikh’s brother, Firoz Alam Shaikh, said, “He had come from Madhubani about two years ago and was to appear for his SSC exams. He filled in the forms, but did not appear for them.”
