Iran claims Osama died of illness long before US raid

Iranian intelligence minister says Iran has reliable information that Bin Laden died of an illness before the raid.

TEHRAN: Iranian media on Sunday reported that Iran refuted US claims that al Qaeda chief Osama bin Laden was killed by US special forces in an operation in the Pakistani garrison town of Abbottabad last Sunday.

Refuting the official version given by the US administration, Iran's Intelligence Minister Heidar Moslehi said that Iran has reliable information that Bin Laden died of illness some time ago.

“If the US military and intelligence apparatus have really arrested or killed bin Laden, why don't they show him (his dead body) why have they thrown his corpse into the sea?” Moslehi asked.

He said the White House was seeking to "overshadow a regional awakening" by releasing such news.

US President Barack Obama had announced that al Qaeda kingpin Bin Laden was killed in an operation by special US forces in his hideout in Abbottabad on May 1. His body was quickly buried at sea and the US has refused to release pictures creating much controversy as many continue to question the veracity of the US claim.

vicky | 12 years ago | Reply Well, guyz i am a professional in strategy and policy and so far i know, the gradual uprising crisis that Pakistan has been facing, is the outcome of the policy makers of Pakistan.we all know that Army and influential political parties: Religious and Secular are the beneficiaries. They hold same stance with different faces.whether its Baghdad pact(1955) or early 60s, in the era of General Ayub khan, U-2 an American spy was took off from the Pakistani soil towards Soviet and was hunted down later. Pakistan or more precisely, Army has been using war as instrument of policy. One should be clear that Pakistanis have been manipulated by these sort of Warlords. For instance, Black waters, Drones and Osama, these are all same the instruments for earning and amputating the bodyparts of common citizens. Now its time to wake up and scrutinize the real picture of our establishment.

Stills of Obama and his team about watching this military operation online were actually of an "OPERATIONS THEATER" video where a team of doctors was trying its best to keep Osama alive and performing surgical operation of his kidneys, as he was already on dialysis from past many years. As osama was under house arrest in a safe house under constant watch.

One does not become an apologist for Osama Bin Laden merely by stating that you disagree with the official narrative of how he died or by challenging the questionable evidence or absence of it that is presented to us. If Osama was indeed responsible for deaths of thousands of people around the world, then he was an evil man, period. I beg to differ that he may be responsible for more deaths and destruction than any other person of this century. More than half a million children have died in Iraq due to sanctions and collateral damage based on a lie, "the price was worth it', Madeleine Albright. Terrorists not only live in caves, but they also drop 1 ton bombs from 10,000 ft above, ordered by men in dark suits, 6,000 miles away. As for your comment about conspiracy theories - every conspiracy is a theory until it becomes fact, and many do. That was once a theory, now we know it is a FACT. Let's nip in the bud the idea, along the accompanying insinuations, that conspiracy theorising is wrong per se, or somehow the purview of the intellectually inferior, bordering on the periphery of lunacy. Without it all investigative journalism would cease to exist. It's much easier to label someone who has a so called 'radical' viewpoint contrary to the the state operandi, a 'conspiracist theorist', rather than analytically and technically scrutinizing the points raised by these 'theorists'. We should start calling him terrorist because Americans call him terrorist? Why? if American nation lacks brain...........it does not mean we do too !! As American official showed evidences of other men involved in 9/11 then why not Osama bin Laden? Why two very important facts about Osama Bin Laden is kept a secret from the world? Was he was involved in 9/11? how? Was he killed by American forces on 2 May? Time magazine portrayed him just like Adolf Hitler, here I ask a question, Adolf Hitler was a leader of a country, he was supported by his military, there were evidences in thousands about genocide of Jewish people. But how come no evidence about Osama Bin Laden' link with 9/11 but still americans call him a terrorist ? How can any person with a functional brain accept this?

rtw | 12 years ago | Reply @Ali: Yes, Osama could be in Gitmo; or he could be hidden in a villa someplace (he was ex-CIA asset after all). Or he could have died years ago. But what I noticed is that he seems to be drugged in the latest photo they showed of him. In earlier photos, he had a spark in his eyes. In the latest one, he just looks like a man under the influence of something. Maybe they just have/had him tucked away somewhere, and constantly drugged.

The alleged body of Bin Laden was hastily dumped in the sea to prevent any proper procedure of identification. The White House claimed this was in accordance with normal Islamic burial rituals, however numerous Muslim scholars all over the globe disputed this claim. A senior U.S. official said the burial decision was made after they realized it would have been difficult to find a country willing to accept bin Laden's body, so we see a contradiction in the reason for burying at sea. As for the claim that that releasing a photo of his dead body would cause an outrage in the Muslim world, might I remind you that the US Government had no qualms about showing photos of dead Muslims such as Saddam Hussain's sons, disfigured prisoners on piled ice at Abu Gharaib prison and many more, so you can safely say Muslims are pretty much desensitized. @Mirza: "Also his grave would become a focal point of more and more extremists." This statement is self-defeating. Osama Bin Laden and his followers follow a Wahhabi doctrine, they are vehemently against shrines. It would have been against their religious interpretation to make his grave a focal point for more and more extremists, rather they would have kept a funeral discreet and laid him to rest in an unmarked grave.

But come 2nd May and the very next day all the Islamist parties of this country (Jamaat ud Dawa, Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam) and some educated(?) people too are on the streets crying over their hero's 'death. You just read/watched the false media, saw the picture which was proven fake (Even many US channels shown how it was Photoshopped and 2 different fotos were merged) and spread the False words. His family alone may be residing here and Americans may have killed their security guards/servants in an illegal attack in Pakistan. If they have killed OBL they may be showing his dead body on live channels for may weeks. Instead they issued a fake photo and a fake movie which proves fake American story just to please their people and to build artificial pressure on Pakistani government. If OBL were killed and his body left behind, there would be huge funeral processions and his martyr cult would have increased. Also his grave would become a focal point of more and more extremists. They killed him, and dumped his body where it belongs. They saved Pakistan from the troubles. Nobody in Pakistan would have dared raid his compound and kill him. This way, the political benefits would come right before the presidential election. OBL's killing has given Obama a political boost for sure, but it won't last until next year's election. Also, taking OBL alive would probably have created a huge mess, with kidnappings and renewed terror campaigns conditioned on his released.

I think nothing even happened there . They planted that helicpter and burned it to show that some operation took place,. Few questions that defy logic are: Why would US kill an apparently unarmed man who happens to be the greatest terrorist master mind the world has ever seen? Why would they not capture him and interrogate to get into the Al Qaeda leadership and mindset? Why would thet not ask him for the location of Al Qaeda heirarchy? Of all people he would be the one who would be sure to know!.Why would they not humilaite him and show his scared, worried and weak face to the world ala Saddam where he would be apologising to the whole world for the problems and war caused? - If they wanted to kill, why would they risk 16 highly trained SEALs who specialise in search and rescue on an assissnation mission? Pakistan would be the first country to claim that OBL was already dead if they thought this was plausable and they thought they could get the World to believe it - but they haven't. PERVAIZ | 12 years ago | Reply 100 per cent OBL died much before . now it is usa turn to proof that they kill OBL on 2nd may . many people have doubt but this but this debit is overshadow by cia vs isi. publicly they confront each other but indirectly they support each other . i have simple question if any one give answer of it 1) In the present of drone attack threat why OBL kept his 11 children and 3 wives with himself in just one attack of drone whole family will finish in seconds. 2) Every terrorist kept one way for escape this is not happen in this case . 3) why not he kept a smart bomb and in last stage he kill 30 to 40 usa marine with himself. or at least kept two or three suicide bomber in this compound . 4) How usa know operation duration less then 40 minutes . what happen if they face stiff resistance from OBL and co. and operation last up to hours and what is back plan when pak army or local police or local population came action. 5) they say they a chance of 60 to 80 present of present of OBL . can u imagine on chance of 60 percent usa President and his whole team leave their whole work and sit in front of big screen . And imagine if 40 to 50 usa marine has died and OBL able to escape in that case obma even may not able to contest a seat of counselor thier is lot of doubt in usa stories .
