Punjab Governor Sardar Latif Khosa has said that the Pakistan Muslim League-Quaid (PML-Q) would definitely consult the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) if it decides to bring a no-confidence motion against the Punjab chief minister.
Speaking at the Governor House in Quetta on Wednesday, Khosa said that any no-trust motion against Punjab CM would be a political decision and such decisions are made with serious consultation.
He said that members of the Unification Bloc belonged to the PML-Q and its president had approached the Election Commission of Pakistan against the bloc.
Responding to a query, Khosa said that former Punjab chief minister Chaudhry Pervaiz Elahi was originally suspected of involvement in the Benazir Bhutto murder case but his name was later retracted in the joint investigation and in United Nations reports.
To a question, he said he was the constitutional head of Punjab and was not bound to implement any unconstitutional advice by the CM.
Earlier at the Quetta Airport, Khosa said that the government was serious on the missing persons issue and working for a resolution. “A prosperous Pakistan is linked with the development of Balochistan and the government has initiated certain steps to bring about socio-economic revolution in this province,” he said, referring to the National Finance Commission award and devolution of powers.
He said that the problems of Balochistan will be resolved by holding talks and negotiations with ‘disillusioned’ nationalists.
