Ahmed Barkati: A Renowned author of literature is no more

Renowned author of literature for children and editor of Hamdard Naunihal, Syed Masood Ahmed Barkati passed away at 87, after a prolonged illness.


Barkati used to edit Hamdard Naunihal for the last 40 years. He was considered to be a close aide of Hakim Muhammad Saeed.


He hailed from a learned family of Tonk, India. He was younger brother of renowned scholar, researcher and physician (tabeeb) Hakim Mehmood Ahmed Barkati.


His namaz-e-janaza will be offered today (11 December) after Zohar at 1:30 at Masjid Falah, Naseerabad, Block-14, FB Area, Karachi.
