FAISALABAD: In the Civil Hospital prisoner ward, a prisoner’s strike continued for the third day on Monday. Nine prisoners, in the hospital ward have refused to eat for the third day of their ongoing hunger strike. The prisoners have demanded the transfer of prison in-charge Dr Talat. Doctors at the hospital have said that the prisoners’ condition is worsening. The prisoners told reporters that the prison warden Dr Talat treated them like animals and fed them stale food. Meanwhile, Civil Hospital medical superintendent Dr Arif Ali said that they were probing the matter. “It is not possible for us to transfer the ward in-charge but we are pushing the authorities for it. If the hunger strike continues the prisoners may die,” he said.
