Catching cops: Murder case filed against 7 police officials

Murder case registered against seven Roshan Bhela police officials.

A murder case was registered against seven Roshan Bhela police officials on the orders of the DPO on Sunday. Police officials said the accused had illegally arrested brothers Muhammad Ashiq and Muhammad Sarwar of Roshan Bhellain village in a robbery case and tortured them at a dera last month.

The brothers were taken to DHQ hospital, where Sarwar died and Ashiq is still in critical condition. “The police just took my boys without any reason. They broke in and left with them and now my son is dead,” Sarwar’s father Saleem said.


After the family of the victims protested outside the police station, Kasur DPO ordered Shekhum police to register a case against the officials. Police booked Sub-Inspector Kafait Hussain, ASI Muhammad Yasin and constables Muhammad Hanif, Muhammad Ali, Muhammad Imran, Manzoor Ahmed and Amir Shehzad.
