Promoting cinema

WASHINGTON: This is with reference to the article ‘10 things Lollywood should do’ (May 13).

The government needs to promote a culture of tolerance and acceptance, and cinema ought to be a part of that movement. Besides, our filmmakers and especially those who write scripts need to work on developing plots that can hold the audience to their seats for a few hours — good stories are absolutely crucial. If they all do a good job then they can challenge Bollywood’s dominance among Pakistani audiences.
