Old feud: Two shot dead on court premises  

Incident was the result of an old enmity between the two parties

FAISALABAD: Two people were killed inside the sessions court premises in Depalpur, Okara on Tuesday.

Depalpur SHO Ijaz Ahmad told The Express Tribune Niaz Ahmad, who was a complainant in a murder case, appeared in the court of Additional Sessions Judge Syed Ali Abbas for the hearing.

His respondents were sitting on a desk outside the court when Niaz opened indiscriminate fire at them, injuring Bilqees Bibi, Sakina Bibi, Mehar Ali, Muhammad Aslam and Muhammad Ramazan.

A police guard deployed at the court fired at Niaz, killing him on the spot. The injured were taken to Depalpur tehsil headquarters hospital, where Bilqees succumbed to her injuries while the condition of others was said to be critical.

The SHO said the incident was the result of an old enmity between the two parties.

He added that they were allegedly involved in several murder cases. The case will be registered when the family of the deceased approach the police, he said.
