Another foreigner robbed in F-7

Robbers disguised as cops and stole the victim's belongings while 'frisking' him

ISLAMABAD: A gang of allegedly fake cops have looted foreign national walking in the F-7 area twice in under a week.

According to Kohsar police, they  pose as police officials and even show service cards before asking the foreigners for a body search.

While searching the unsuspecting victims, the suspects grab all they can from their pockets and run away, sources said, quoting two identical cases that were reported in the span of five days.

Gian Marco Augstini, filed a complaint with the Kohsar police that on January 4, he was out for a walk in F-7/4 when a car stopped nearby and two men waving police IDs came out.

The men, who were not in uniform, said they wanted to search me, the victim said in the complaint. While frisking him, the suspects snatched his credit cards and  phone before fleeing.

In the previous incident, Bruce Yang Seng was deprived of Rs29,000 by four men posing as police officials on January 10. The victim filed a complaint with the Kohsar police stating that he was walking in the F-7/4 area when a car stopped near him, four men came out and snatched Rs29,000 after frisking him under similar pretexts.
