Land fraud case: NAB arrests supervising accountant   

Susupect had illegally kept entry in the record of rights based on forged documents

The supervising tapedar of Hyderabad, Imtiaz Solangi, was arrested by the National Accountability Bureau (NAB), Karachi, in an investigation against builders Abdul Ghaffar Dada and others pertaining to Hyderabad’s Memon society.

Imtiaz was arrested during a raid near the Sindh High Court on Tuesday, according to a press statement issued by NAB. He had illegally kept entry in the record of rights based on forged documents in connivance with Dada and Rafiq Solangi which was subsequently verified by Mukhtiarkar Ali Zulfiqar who was arrested in the same case earlier and is currently under judicial custody.

Consequently, many people were tempted to purchase pieces of land that never existed, read the statement, adding that the builders defrauded them of an amount of Rs107 million.
