FAISALABAD: SHO Muhammad Javed Iqbal told The Express Tribune on phone the family members of the deceased claimed they were not aware of the actual cause of death. He said, “However, initial evidence collected by the police suggests the deaths were caused from eating poisonous food or they might have died due to suffocation.”

The policeman said that nothing could be said for certain and we will investigate the case from all angles. “We will also interrogate family members if needed,” he pointed out.

He said the police had taken the dead bodies into custody and shifted them to the mortuary of the Civil Hospital.

He added the postmortem would be conducted to ascertain the cause of the deaths.

“We are waiting for the receipt of the postmortem report as well as the forensic Laboratory analysis report for which the sample has been sent,” the police official maintained.

The SHO said the case had not been registered as yet and the police was making efforts to solve the mysterious incident.
