Education in Zhob

Letter January 17, 2017
The incumbent Government of Balochistan pledged to improve its education but the dismal conditions reflect its failure

ZHOB: Zhob is the most overlooked and underprivileged district of Balochistan. Unfortunately, education in Zhob is in shabby condition compared with other districts of Balochistan. The Pakistan Social and Living Standards Measurement data depicts an appallingly low literacy rate and ranks low on several measures including female literacy and children out of school. The district is confronting numerous problems like lack of quality education, poverty, ghost schools and inefficient faculty. The incumbent Government of Balochistan pledged to improve its education but the dismal conditions reflect its failure. Beyond doubt, this district contributes to the national economy with a standard international air route. The low literacy rate is alarming. I urge the education ministry of Balochistan to earmark a greater chunk of money in order to provide better education to the inhabitants of Zhob.
