Fire outbreak: Man, two daughters injured in fire incident

Fire erupted in a furniture warehouse and later it turned into a huge blaze and engulfed the whole building

LAHORE: A 41-year-old man and his two daughters were injured when a fire broke out in a warehouse in Qilla Gujjar Singh on Tuesday.

Rescue officials said that a fire erupted in a furniture warehouse near Dayal Singh College, Lakshami Chowk at around 4:00pm. In no time, it turned into a huge blaze and engulfed the whole building. The fire also engulfed a house adjacent to the warehouse. Three victims Muhammad Kashif, his daughters Bisma, 14 and Noor Fatima, 9 were trapped inside the building.

Rescue 1122 team was called after the neighbours made a failed attempt to rescue the man and his daughters. The victims were rescued and admitted into a nearby hospital. Kashif had received 45% burn injuries, Bisma 20% and Noor Fatima 25%.

The other day the same warehouse had caught fire and a man was injured when he jumped off the roof to escape the blaze. The fire was controlled by Rescue 1122. On Tuesday, a fire erupted again in the same warehouse and the Rescue officials said that the cause of fire would be ascertained after an inquiry into the incidents.
