Heart attack? College teacher found dead in the hostel's lavatory

She had gone to perform ablution before Fajr prayer on Friday morning but failed to return

HARIPUR: A female college teacher was found unresponsive in a college restroom on Friday morning after suffering from a heart attack.

Sabeeha, a 38-year-old lecturer at the Haripur Government Girls Degree College, was a resident of Dera Ismail Khan and used to teach Statistics at the college.

She had been living at the teachers' hostel of the college along with her children for the past few years since she did not have an off-campus residence.

College officials said that she had gone to the lavatory in the hostel to perform ablution before Fajr prayer on Friday morning but failed to return.

At around 8am, her children informed other teachers at the college that their mother had disappeared. Subsequently, a search was conducted around campus.

While searching the bathrooms, they discovered that the door of one of the stalls was locked from the inside. College staff broke into it the stall and found her there.

According to hospital sources, Sabeeha had suffered cardiac arrest and died.

However, police have started an investigation into the death.
