Spurious fertilisers: Drive against dealers launched in Sargodha 

The commissioner said all out efforts would be under taken for provision of pure product to the farmers

SARGODHA: A drive against the sale and manufacturing of spurious pesticides and fertilisers has been launched in Sargodha. The action was initiated on the directions of Commissioner Nadeem Mehboob on Thursday. He directed the DCOs concerned and all departments to take stern action against the dealers selling spurious products in the market.

He added dealers who were found involved in mixing pesticides and fertilizers will be taken to task.

The commissioner said all out efforts would be under taken for provision of pure product to the farmers. He said the provincial government was providing relief to farmers which should be delivered accordingly.

Meanwhile, officials of agriculture department said that 437 samples had been collected from 1,217 fertiliser dealers while 10 FIRs were lodged against the dealers whose samples were declared spurious or sub-standard. Besides, he maintained 795 dealers were monitored and 387 samples were collected.
