The death of pop star turned-evangelist Junaid Jamshed has left a void that can never be filled.

From the timeless Dil Dil Pakistan to Us Rah Par, Junaid's songs constitute an integral part of Pakistani music’s golden era. As a tribute to the late star, singer Atif Aslam recently presented a soul-stirring rendition of Junaid's 1993 song Aitbaar.

Atif was performing at Lahore's Preschool-Learning Alliance where he sang the iconic number in his own style, leaving the audience mesmerised. Junaid's Aitbaar has been reworked by scores of singers since its release.

Junaid was on board the ill-fated PIA flight PK-661 which crashed near Abbottabad recently. The pop star-turned-preacher has a number of iconic songs to his credit including the all-time favourite Dil Dil Pakistan. Born on September 3, 1964, Junaid shot to stardom in the 1980s as the front man of Vital Signs.
