Festive aura: Christmas celebrated with zeal and fervour in Hazara

Celebrations would continue till the night of January 1

ABBOTABAD: Christmas celebrations were held with zeal and fervour amid tight security all across Hazara on Sunday.

People of all ages celebrated the day attired in new clothes, with food and drinks, Christmas carols and other festivities.

Midnight mass were held in all churches in the region, where priests led services offering prayers and pledging their loyalty to Pakistan.

They offered prayers for the prosperity and peace in the country, along with interfaith harmony and brotherhood among people of all faiths. “During our services we expressed our gratitude to the Pakistan Army for conducting operation Zarb-e- Azb, which has made it possible for us to celebrate Christmas without the fear of attacks," claimed Haripur District Council Member Dr Irfan Nasir, who is also a member of the church committee of Saint John Church.

Talking to The Express Tribune, he said that celebrations would continue till the night of January 1.
