Qau land: Mayor promises action against encroachers

ISLAMABAD: Islamabad Mayor and CDA Chairman Sheikh Anser Aziz on Wednesday agreed to take swift and exemplary action against land grabbers who have colonised areas near Third Avenue and CDA Land adjacent of Quaid-e-Azam University (QAU).

In a visit to QAU with regard to its pressing land issues, he nominated three top officials of the Capital Development Authority as focal persons to immediately start helping QAU with boundary wall issues and land demarcation so the varsity could commence action against the encroachers.

QAU Project Director Engineer Bakht Rehman and university spokesman Dr Ilhan Niaz briefed the mayor and his team on the status of current encroachments. QAU Resident Officer Prof Wasim Ahmed also elaborated upon the situation.
