The Foreign Office condemned on Thursday Indian Home Minister Rajnath Singh's statement, saying it vindicated its stance that India was involved in subversive activities to destabilise Pakistan.

Addressing a gathering in Indian-held Kashmir’s Kathua district, Singh had threatened to break Pakistan into ‘10 pieces.’ He also accused Pakistan of “trying to destabilise India by encouraging terrorism”, a charge Islamabad has repeatedly rejected.

Speaking at the weekly news briefing in Islamabad, Foreign Office spokesperson Nafees Zakaria said Singh's absurd remarks were in complete violation of international norms.

India's design to disintegrate Pakistan will never succeed, says Nisar

Zakaria lamented that despite Pakistan's efforts to create a conducive atmosphere to resolve the issues, India has not reciprocated in the same manner. The international community is well aware of Pakistan's stance for resolving the issues through dialogue, he added.

The spokesperson also condemned continued atrocities and human rights violations by Indian forces in held Kashmir, and expressed concerns on the treatment meted to the minorities in India.

Zakaria reiterated that Kashmir dispute should be resolved through a free and fair plebiscite in line with the resolutions of the United Nations Security Council (UNSC) and aspirations of the Kashmiri people.

Zakaria assured that Pakistan was committed towards peace and stability in Afghanistan, saying participation in the Heart of Asia Conference in India was a manifestation of this spirit.

On Monday, Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan also said that India’s designs to disintegrate Pakistan will not succeed.
