MULTAN: Punjab Agriculture Secretary Muhammad Mahmood said Wednesday that the Kisan Package is the first step towards a green revolution and would improve the financial conditions of farmers. He said steps were under way for the establishment of a high tech centre which would help make access of farmers’ to modern machinery and technology easy. The secretary said this while talking to a delegation of farmers’ representatives, according to a release issued by the media liaison unit of the Punjab Agriculture Department. “Farmers have been working hard for decades to grow food for people but lamented that they had remained deprived of modern facilities.” The country would have witnessed agriculture revolution much earlier had farmers been provided sufficient support for application of modern technology by past governments, he said.
