BAHAWALPUR: A basketball tournament was held at the sports complex of Government Sadiq College Women University Bahawalpur on Saturday. Four basketball teams of the university participated in the event, where varsity vice-chancellor Dr Tallat Afza was the chief guest at the opening ceremony.
Vice-Chancellor Dr Tallat highlighted the vital role of sports for promoting leadership qualities among the youth.
The contestant teams of the tournament comprised teams from the first year, second year and BS programme. The basketball team of 2nd year won the tournament while the teams of 1st year and BS batch came 2nd and 3rd, respectively.
The event was attended by the university’s Education Dean Naseem Khalid, Arts Dean Salma Khan, Sports Department head Nasreen Kausar, sports in-charge Fareeda Nuzhat Bajwa and a large number of students.
