During the two-day workshop, participants noted that prevailing mindset can be changed through education and training to promote female empowerment.

QUETTA: Balochistan’s acting Governor Raheela Hameed Khan Durrani on Saturday underscored the need for practical measures to make women financially independent.

The acting governor said that women could protect their rights by becoming financially independent.

“We all will have to play our due role to ensure complete financial independence for women,” she said adding that it was the need of the hour that women played an active role in building the economy.

She stressed the need to launch campaigns to raise awareness on importance of women’s rights.

“The society should avoid limiting the roles of women,” she said that the country could not progress until its female population helped in its development.
