It seems like Vine has found an unlikely saviour in adult mega-site PornHub.

Earlier on Thursday, Twitter announced its decision to lay off more than 300 employees and discontinue Vine, a video app launched in 2013 that played brief clips on a repeat loop. Apparently the adult site had something to say as it offered to rescue the ill-fated video app.

In a letter sent to Twitter CEO Jack Dorsey, PornHub VP Corey Price extended an offer to buyout Vine.

"We figure since Twitter has dropped [Vine] and is having significant layoffs, that you and your stakeholders could benefit from a cash infusion from the sale of Vine. Not to mention we would be saving Vine gems like 'Damn Daniel', 'Awkward Puppets' and many more," reads the letter that was shared with CNET.

PornHub also promises to "restore Vine to Its NSFW glory", saying that clips "of porn in six seconds is more than enough time for most people to enjoy themselves".

However, it seems like the offer is a tongue-in-cheek jab at Twitter and its decision to shutter the video looping platform as no prospect buyer looking to acquire other company’s asset would point at its recent hardships in a letter and then share it with the media.

But you never know, maybe Twitter will be willing to deal with the PornHub.
