Federal minister says authorities have given him assurance that supply of gas and electricity will be restored soon.
ISLAMABAD: Electricity and gas supply to parts of Balochistan, brought to a halt due to explosions that targeted electricity towers and gas pipelines, will be resumed shortly.
Talking to media, Federal Minister for Science and Technology Mir Changez Khan Jamali said the National Transmission Dispatch Company (NTDC) and the Sui Gas authorities have given him assurance that construction work required for the erection of towers, and for the restoration of gas pipelines, has been completed, and that supply will be restored soon.
He said he had directed authorities concerned to end the crisis by speeding up work to minimise time to restore power and gas supply to citizens.
The minister also said he was in close liaison with the provincial government, adding that strict security measures were being taken on main electricity and gas installations to curb such incidents in the future.
