No holidays for officials till Muharram 11

Hundreds of volunteers to perform security duties

MULTAN: The district administration has cancelled holidays of all district officials till Muharram 11, said Pakpattan district emergency officer Dr Khalid Abdullah while speaking after the flag march held in Pakpattan on Wednesday.

“All the arrangements have been made to deal with any untoward situation,” he said.

Pakpattan DCO Kamran Yousuf said around 315 religious gatherings and 75 processions will be organised in Pakpattan while approximately 1,242 police personnel and hundreds of volunteers will perform security duties on Ashura.

“Now it is the responsibility of our religious scholars to deliver the message of brotherhood and harmony in their speeches,” he said.

Rescue 1122 staff members have been deployed at imambargahs to deal with any emergency and rescue mobile points have also been established to provide medical treatment to mourners.
