Encounters: Police kill one suspect, arrest three others in Sukkur

SUKKUR: The Sukkur police killed one suspect, while three others were arrested in an injured condition during separate encounters Monday night.

According to the police, the first encounter took place near Maula Ali Regulator police picket within the limits of the Dadlo police station. A policeman signalled a car to stop, but instead, the passengers opened fire. The police retaliated and arrested one of the suspects, Waqar Ali Bhutto, who was injured during the exchange of fire, according to the police.

Bhutto’s two accomplices managed to escape from the scene, leaving the car behind. Bhutto, who was being rushed to the hospital for treatment, succumbed to his injuries midway. Police also recovered a pistol, three rounds and Rs7,000 cash from his possession. The car they were travelling in was reported stolen from the society area on Monday.

Separately, A-Section police arrested a suspect, Muzafar Bhayo, while his accomplices managed to escape during an encounter at Bunder Road in Sukkur. The police also recovered a TT pistol and three bullets from Bhayo’s possession.

Similarly, the police arrested a suspect, Naveed Shaikh, in an injured condition during an encounter within the limits of the Baiji police station. A pistol with five bullets was recovered from his possession.

Meanwhile, a suspect, Saddam Hussain Korai was arrested after an encounter in Salehpat. A pistol and three bullets were recovered from his possession, said the police.
