Pakistan beat West Indies in the second of the three-match ODI series by 59 runs in Sharjah on late Sunday.

With the victory, Pakistan bagged an unassailable 2-0 lead against the visitors and will be looking to whitewash them to move to the eighth position in the ODI team rankings.

In their 338-run chase, Windies never looked into contention for a victory. Darren Bravo (61) and Marlon Samuels (57) tried to make a match out of it but their efforts went fruitless.

For Pakistan, Wahab Riaz took two wickets while Imad Wasim and Mohammad Amir bagged one wicket each.

Earlier, Pakistan continued their astounding form against West Indies as they set a target of 338 runs for the visitors.

Pakistan, who opted to bat first, were once again led by Babar Azam's ton who scored 123 off 126 ball courtesy nine boundaries and a six.

He was assisted by Shoaib Malik who scored 90 off 84 balls and hit six maximums to set the tone for a big total of 337-5.

Despite losing the openers, Azhar Ali and Sharjeel Khan, early Pakistan did not look like a team which was beaten 4-1 by England in their last ODI series.

Later, Sarfraz Ahmed also pitched in with a quick-fire 60 off 47 balls to help Pakistan set a daunting total for the Jason Holder-led Windies team.

For West Indies, Alzarri Joseph and Holder bagged two wickets each. Sunil Narine also accounted for one batsman.

Post-match ceremony

Man-of-the-match Babar Azam: I just wanted to play all the overs. We wanted to build a big partnership. Shoaib backed me, never let me go under pressure. Fitness is very important. Nothing special, I eat what everyone else eats.

Jason Holder: Pitch was good, we gave 30 odd runs more. It was difficult to go from ball one. Every game counts. We have quite to play for still.

Azhar Ali: It was a wonderful team effort. Babar Azam and Shoaib Malik played really well. They assessed the conditions very well. We know every game is important. We are making a lot of improvements. In the head, it was a good effort from the fast-bowlers. We could have had a perfect ending if we had taken the catches. Ground fielding was good but we should take the catches. I think I am hitting the ball pretty good in the nets. I just need some time out there to get myself settled.
