One dead, seven injured as earthquake jolts parts of Islamabad, K-P

The quake measured 5.5 on the Richter scale

Strong tremors were felt across Islamabad and parts of Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa (K-P) on Saturday, leaving one dead and at least seven people injured in Naran neighbourhood of Mansehra district.

Six of the injured people have been provided required medical treatment and are now said to be in a stable condition whereas one person has been referred to DHQ hospital, K-P Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA) said.

The quake hit many areas including Islamabad, Rawalpindi, Peshawar, Malakand and Hazara among others. The quake measured 5.5 on the Richter scale. According to the PDMA, the epicentre of the quake was located in the Hindu Kush.

Earthquake jolts parts of China, Pakistan

In wake of the tremors, many people vacated their homes and buildings fearing aftershocks.

"An earthquake with a magnitude of 5.4 struck Pakistan at 0804 GMT, 117km east of the Swat Valley city of Mingaora, at a depth of 43.4km," the US Geological Survey said.

Tremors felt in Lahore, adjoining areas

In August, earthquake tremors jolted parts of China and Pakistan. Tremors were felt in Islamabad and adjoining areas. According to the Met Department, the earthquake measured 5.1 on the Richter scale and while its focal depth was 10 kilometres, its epicentre was located in China’s Sichuan area.

KM | 7 years ago | Reply This time at least Pak govt shud acknowledge it's controlled nuclear attack by Ind, instead they are fooling the ppl by stating it's an earth-quake.
