One-window facilitation desks

Letter September 20, 2016
Passengers going abroad or coming home should become aware of this facility so that they may be helped

WAZIRABAD: The Federal Ombudsman has established a one-window facilitation desk at almost all airports of Pakistan. These desks comprise over 10 agencies of Pakistan, including Nadra, the FIA, the CAA, and the ASF, led by the Overseas Pakistanis Foundation (OPF). The purpose of these desks is to provide a facility to passengers to sort out their problems at the airport. The raison d’etre of the establishment of this desk is to help overseas Pakistanis lodge complaints at airports and get them redressed on a fast track.

Whenever a complaint is received against any agency or airline, a fax is immediately sent to the Federal Ombudsman Islamabad. An officer of the Federal Ombudsman is available round-the-clock to proceed with the complaint. The officer sends the complaint to the agency concerned or department, seeks a reply without delay and takes action if the department concerned proves guilty. Many passenger complaints are due to lack of awareness of rules and information on passengers’ part. Passengers going abroad or coming home should become aware of this facility so that they may be helped.
