KARACHI: The Pakistan Airline Pilots Association (Palpa) has advised the Federal government and the PIA management to withdraw the Pakistan Essential Services Act in the national airline.

“Re-enforcement of this act will not bode well for the national entity due to the ongoing restructuring in its organisational setup as the overall industrial environment is conducive for growth,” said Palpa President Captain Khalid Hamza.

“The further enhancement of the act will discourage employees. It
is imperative that unions and employees are considered a partner and the initiatives for development should be taken with all stakeholders and employees’ representatives on board,” he added.
