Pakistan hit out at India on Wednesday over its human rights violations in Indian Kashmir and called upon the international community to help defenseless Kashmiris.

In a right-to-reply at the United Nations Human Rights Council (UNHRC) in Geneva, Pakistan highlighted India’s unabated atrocities on Kashmiris.

India raises 'Pakistan’s human rights violations in Balochistan' at UN

Pakistan’s delegate termed India’s twisting of historical facts and outright denial of well-documented violations of human rights in Indian Kashmir an insult to the intelligence of UNHRC. The delegate went on to reject the Indian representative’s “absurd” on the issue.

He also asked his India counterpart to respond for the Council’s information if "India could deny that the situation in Kashmir is an internationally recognised dispute on which there are number of UN resolutions."

"Can India deny that the UN has expressly called for the holding of an impartial plebiscite to ascertain the wishes of the Kashmiri people? Can India deny there are over 700,000 military and paramilitary forces deployed in IOK, which amounts to a shocking ratio of 1 military person to 70 civilians?"

Pakistan rejects Indian claims of restraint in Indian Kashmir

He further asked if India could deny that since 1989, around 100,000 civilians have been killed in Indian Kashmir and that there are well documented reports of mass graves.

"Can India deny that in the most recent indigenous uprising in the wake of Burhan Wani’s extra-judicial killing on July 8, over 100 Kashmiris have lost their lives, 10,000 injured and over 700 suffered injuries in their eyes due to pellet guns causing either complete or partial blindness?"

wow | 7 years ago | Reply @RawalPindi Kid: wake up kid. Lot of water has passed since UN resolution on kashmir. We have had almost 3 wars after that. Lot of bilateral commitments, lets respect those agreements or else keep on blaming each other for human rights violation and make a joke of ourselves on international forums.
