QUETTA: Balochistan Chief Minister Nawab Sanaullah Zehri has directed top administration and law enforcement officials to take strict security measures to stave off the possibility of any untoward incident during Eidul Azha in Quetta and other parts of the province.

“Special arrangements should be made for the security of all mosques, Eidgahs and open places where Eid prayers are to be held,” he said. The provincial chief minister wants the administration to bolster security arrangements at all shopping centres, markets, shopping malls and bazaars and keep saboteurs and anti-peace elements at bay.

He directed Inspector General of Police Ahsan Mehboob to force SHOs of all police stations to maximize police patrolling and monitoring of security arrangements. He also directed all divisional commissioners, deputy commissioners, DIGs and SSPs to ensure their presence in the districts to perform their duties.
