MBBS admissions: UHS declares entrance test results

The eligible candidates will compete for 3,405 MBBS and 216 BDS seats in 20 public sector colleges

LAHORE: The University of Health Sciences (UHS) on Tuesday declared the results of the Medical Entrance Test 2016 for admission to medical and dental colleges in the Punjab.

As many as 54,908 candidates had taken the entrance test on August 28. Of them, 29,177 candidates scored 60 per cent and above marks, 7,517 candidates got 50 to 59 per cent marks, 6,621 candidates obtained 40 to 49 per cent marks and 11,593 candidates got less than 40 per cent marks.

Umar Maqbool, son of Muhammad Maqbool from Faisalabad, stood first in the test. He obtained 1,082 out of 1,100 marks. Rabbia Irfan, daughter of Irfanul Haq Khan from Gujranwala, got second position. She obtained 1,076 marks. Three candidates shared the third position as they obtained 1,070 marks each. They are Arsalan Shaukat, son of Shaukat Ali from Lahore; Alleza Ashraf, daughter of Muhammad Ashraf from Sahiwal and Saba Fatima, daughter of Ikram Ullah from Sahiwal.

The eligible candidates will compete for 3,405 MBBS and 216 BDS seats in 20 public sector colleges. Admission forms for government medical and dental colleges will be available from October 3 to October 15.

According to Pakistan Medical and Dental Council’s admission formula, the candidates who have secured 82 per cent and above aggregate marks are eligible to apply for admission on an open merit basis. The first selection list will be displayed on October 28. Classes in all public medical colleges will start on November 14.
