Now you can share Instant Video with your Facebook friends on Messenger

Facebook has added a new 'Instant video' feature to Messenger, allowing users to share video with friends while conversing with them.



The latest video sharing feature is part of Facebook’s efforts to keep up with Snapchat and with the changing habits of younger users.



“We know that every message is unique and personal to you and the person you’re chatting with — so today, we’re excited to launch Instant Video, letting you to put a smile on the faces of those people who matter most in your life,” Facebook said in a blog post on Thursday.



This new instant video feature is different from the Messenger's existing video call option in a way that it allows you to share instant video with your friends while chatting with them. The video call option is tilted more towards Skype like conversations.



When using Messenger to converse, you can tap on the video icon in the top-right corner to start sharing real-time video. Your friend can watch your video stream and share a video back if they decide.





“Instant Video is a reflection of the ubiquity of video — we simply expect to have that ability in real-time, all the time. With Instant Video, you can bring your conversations to life in the most authentic way — seamlessly and instantly,” said Facebook.
