Innovation: K-10 education initiative launched

It specifically highlights student enrolment, retention and learning outcomes as key challenges faced by schools

PESHAWAR: The K-10 project, a start-up support programme, to catalyse innovation in education sector in K-P and Balochistan has been launched at Basecamp office in the city.

The programme aims to help local technology and design community to innovate and resolve problems faced by the education sector, especially in primary schools.

It specifically highlights student enrolment, retention and learning outcomes as key challenges faced by schools.

“We are aiming to innovate 10 segments of our education pipeline from which idea the progeramme borrows its name,” Basecamp Lord Programme Manager Neelam Azmat said. “Local start-ups have better knowledge about local problems and are more equipped to come up with sustainable solutions,” Basecamp CEO Dr Faisal Khan said.

The programme intends to incubate and support best education start-ups that have an impact on most pressing issues in the region and have the potential to be sustainable.
